Geležinis Vilkas (in English the Iron Wolf) is a mythical character from a medieval legend about the founding of Vilnius, the capital of the ancient Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the modern Republic of Lithuania.

According to the legend, Grand Duke Gediminas (ca. 1275 - 1341) went hunting in the sacred forest near the valley of Šventaragis, where the river Vilnia flows into the river Neris. After a successful hunt for an aurochs, the Grand Duke retired for the night. He fell fast asleep and dreamed of a huge iron wolf standing on a hill and howling as strong and loud as a hundred wolves. Upon awakening, the Grand Duke asked the Krivis (pagan priest) Lizdeika to interpret the dream:

"What is destined for the ruler and the state of Lithuania is this: the iron wolf represents a castle and a city that will be built by you in this place. This city will be the capital of the Lithuanian lands and the residence of their rulers. And the glory of these deeds will reverberate throughout the world." - said the priest to him.

Therefore, following the will of the gods, Gediminas built the city and named it Vilnius - after the river Vilnia.

In honor of the 700th anniversary of Vilnius, VE's hometown, VE decided to create this special watch. The design resembles Iron Wolf armor with "rivets" on the bracelet and a mechanical "heart" inside. The indices evoke the "fangs" of the wolf and a glowing image of him appears in the dark on the glass near the tower he has defended for the past seven centuries.

Each example comes with a pre-assembled stainless steel bracelet in a beautiful oak watch box. Inside, green represents a national color of Lithuania and an oak leaf pattern is recognizable. A supplement to the legend about Geležinis Vilkas is also included.
