When Yuri Gagarin went down in history as the first person in space on April 12, 1961, he had a special watch on his wrist. The timepiece was custom made for this space flight, manufactured by Sturmanskie. The watch got a legendary touch because it worked perfectly in weightlessness. Sturmanskie has been the official watch supplier for former Soviet and now Russian cosmonauts since 1961. Specially dedicated to Juri Gagarin, the Gagarin series is optically and qualitatively based on the original watch from 1961.
